If you live in a big city or college town in the U.S., there are probably a handful of food trucks/carts. Lately, I've been frequenting these more often than usual in NYC instead of going to a fast food place when I'm in a hurry for a quick bite. I usually hit up the Halal carts, tried a handful of the more known ones including the famous "Halal Guys" on 53rd which IMO has the best white sauce but the meat/rice isn't as flavorful as some of the others. Most of them provide a good amount of food for around $5 which is a good deal given the area. There was a donut one that I liked as well although it was kind of pricey, like $3 a donut or so. In NJ there are some food trucks (called grease trucks) by Rutgers University that sell these sandwiches known as "fat sandwiches" which often have obscene names, those are some of the best cheap sandwiches I've had, super unhealthy though. The "grease" part of the name is very appropriate Curious to hear if some of you have something similar where you live.
