RE: Clocking Your Graphic Card?
Essentially it just beefs to power of the card for higher specs than what it's intended to do, at the expense of safety (see: it may overheat).
If you're going to try it, buy some Heatsinks/fans. ![]() http://getoutofherestalker.blogspot.com/ |

RE: Clocking Your Graphic Card?
I dunno, personally I don't bother with it too much, as overclocking can be dangerous for your boards.
However if you want to try it, do it, but reach over every 30 seconds/a minute, and make sure it isn't running hot (see: If it's too hot to touch, it's not f**king good). My ATI 2600 XT HD is overclocked, but I forget by how much. It runs pretty warm, but not "hot", and I haven't had any problems. ![]() http://getoutofherestalker.blogspot.com/ |

RE: Clocking Your Graphic Card?
A good person to ask would be squee666, he tends to know quite a lot about clocking all sorts of hardware devices, and has done so on his own computer to no ill-affect.
Wealth and fame, he's ignored, action is his reward...

RE: Clocking Your Graphic Card?
Thats a good question.
If you like playing video games on your computer, it can be beneficial, but if you are just a casual user, I would not recommend it. If you are not careful, you can do some harm to your pc. ![]() http://www.myspace.com/phatbowser |

RE: Clocking Your Graphic Card?
Well since you can screw up your computer if you're not careful it's best that you use a detailed guide.
This one seems to be good: Check it out. If you have questions about something you read there just ask in this thread and we'll help you out. As for the benefits, it's supposed to improve performance. So rather than getting a more powerful card, you can try to push your current card a bit more in hopes of getting more out of it. RE: Clocking Your Graphic Card?
True, cause if it fails, you have an excuse to buy a rocking graphics card.
