I think that discussion has ended when the adult industry's choosed blu-ray over HD-DVD. Let's talk more about the aftermath. Will blu-ray be a reason to make the PS3 more popular?

I mean with all the great games coming on 2008 and blu-ray being a winner, well the PlayStation 3 continue and carry the flag like the PS1 and PS2 and dominate the market? This might be the year of microsoft. But with the generated hate toward microsoft in the international market like Europe and Japan and even with US market.

Well Sony again stop microsoft from dominating the market and stop them from playing their dirty tricks and finally, stop them from doing the same thing that they did to PC? I bet no gamer here want to be played and monoplized by microsoft.

Anyway, let's return to the main subject. How the blu-ray will benefit the PS3? And how the HD-DVD will benefit the Xbox?

Anyway back on topic, HD-DVD was a quick attempt to improve DVDs. But then came along Blu-Ray and perfected it. That feature does benefit the PS3, however, it's just one of the factors. There's still the game issue. What this means is that PS3 games will definitely have better graphics, and possibly extra features like videos, long soundtracks etc. because of that. But the gameplay is a different story.

So while it will give the PS3 an advantage, it still has to be able to defeat Halo 3 and future titles, as well as exclusive titles for the Wii that will truly utilize the Wiimote and nunchuck efficiently.

I guess so, its like joining some religious cult or something :P.

Hmm.. a game can be beautiful and has an amazing gameplay in the same time. Its not like in order for a game to have a good gameplay you have to screw its graphics and sound tracks.

Honestly, Halo 3 is overhyped game. I can't wait till I see the disappointment stamped into people's face. When they discover than Warhawk is more fun than Halo 3.

I've been told that Halo 3 takes full advantage of the 360, I doubt that. That mean the Halo 3 will fry some Xbox's. ^^

I heard good things about that Warhawk game, but it has a few flaws too.

Anyway, we can't fairly compare it to the Halo 3 yet. Once it's released we will know what next gen system is truly the best, at least until the Halo 3 release date.

Personally I don't think it'll affect the market much atm.

Most of the people I know, including myself, don't even HAVE HDTV's, so they have no need for either Blu-ray or an HDDVD drive. As far as movies go, I've watched movies on HD, and I've watched movies on SD, and to be honest it doesn't make a big enough difference to me to be throwing out 100's of dollars just to be able to see King Kongs nipple hairs.

On halo and the 360, I don't see how it taking full advantage will make it fry. A game taking full advantage of a console, from what I've seen, has never fried it.

I'm positive Halo 3 will sell like crack and be rated higher and played more than Warhawk. Warhawk just looks like Battlefield sprinkled with cartoony sci-fi vehicles.

So don't be angry when Halo DOES sell like crack and is well received by gamers and reviewers alike, which I know it will. Everyone I know is hyped about Halo 3, and I think I'm one of the few people in my school who've even heard of Warhawk.

Halo is just a well received game by the public all around. You have a right to your opinion in saying you think it isn't that good, but the fact of the matter is that most people disagree and are waiting to purchase Halo 3 10 times more than Warhawk. It is just a game everyone knows and plays, like counterstrike. I see chicks in my school playing Halo all the time at parties/hangouts and whatnot, it's like DDR or Guitar Hero; nearly everyone plays it.

So while you have a right to say you think it'll be poorly received and disappointing, the fact is that if you look at all the evidence, you'd realize that tons more people are anticipating and awaiting the arrival of Halo 3, tons more than Warhawk. As a matter of fact I think I'm going to make a poll right now asking which people are waiting for/more hyped for just to prove a point.

It does, that mean it takes more power thus generating more heat, thus, it fries the 360. Halo 3 doesen't have that pretty graphics anyway so i don't see how its taking full advantage.

It will SELL like crack. Everyone waiting for Halo 3 in the US. But soon the people will be disappointed because it doesen't bring anything new like warhawk for example. Six-axis flying control, intense battles.

Honestly, the Xbox 360 will lose its charm after 2008 once Killzone 2 is out and all the beautiful games. Even YOU SnakeTheFox will buy a PS3. No one likes micro$oft.

I mean the PlayStation 3 is catching up with the 2 year old Xbox 360, that must hurt.

Conclusion, Halo 3 is just an overhyped game that will lose its charm just like the Wii.

I can't comment much on the gameplay as I didn't play beta, but they are going overboard in advertising it.

Anyway, it's coming out this month so we'll see how it's really like as the beta is just..beta lol.

Last time I checked the 360 was still selling like crazy. And I know a LOT of people that are buying 360s once Halo 3 comes out.

I would bet money that almost all people (with the exception of yourself) wont be disappointed when it comes out. Why would someone be disappointed it didn't have Six-axis, what the hell does six-axis have to do with Halo? I can GUARANTEE it would suck ass if it DID have six-axis, six-axis wouldn't work for Halo, so don't try and hold that over it's head. Warhawk doesn't bring anything more new. It's a cheap Battlefield rip-off that's just a bit more cartoony with its weapons and vehicles, thats all. And people wont be dissapointed at the lack of immense battles because they aren't going IN expecting immense battles. Halo is a game designed for a Medium amount of people to duke it out, not 40+ people with Airplanes and battleships, that'd ruin the concept of the game. And the Singleplayer IS going to have immense battles, hell, the 2nd (if I recall) level of the campaign is supposed to have one battle in it that has more enemies and allies than the whole entire first MISSION of Halo 1.

I wont buy a PS3, MAYBE when it costs less than 400$ for a mid-top tier one, but that's far off. It just doesn't offer much. Maybe Killzone 2, MGS4 and Heavenly Sword, but other than that none of the games, in development or out, interest me.

And it wont fry 360s, I don't know where you come off making such a random claim. Cite your sources or don't say it. Enough about graphics already, please, graphics are NOT a game. Halo bases its fun on GAMEPLAY. The online in Halo is unbeatable by any other console game, on any console (minus PC, it having a few better ones like CS:S). The game looks good, it isn't AMAZING in the graphics department, but it doesn't lack either.
