I used to have a server for it but shut it down.

I suggest you just use the server list inside the game and look for the ones with the most players in it as I don't really know any specific ones.

It's actually rather frustrating, when ever I'm on, there's only about 2 maybe 3 servers with a decent amount of people, and at least one of them is for clans only... i.e. I get booted when I try to join..

Actually it might be due to the way AssaultCube works, anyone can claim temporary server admin status on the server. You just have to do it before anyone else does. And there's a bunch of pricks that will join empty servers and take over. Then they'll start to boot people at their leisure. This one guy even booted me off my own server, however after restarting the server the joke was on him as I logged in right away and he was the one who got booted.

I think I may have a solution to the 360 controller problem.

Apparently AssaultCube does not support controllers however using a program called JoyToKey this can still be accomplished.

For some reason I wasn't able to map some of the buttons on my 360 controller but I did manage to make the controller work to the point where the game is actually playable with it. However you'll probably get pwned because my cfg isn't perfect. But it's a starting point.

I've attached it to this post, feel free to use it and tweak it to fit your needs. If you do manage to get a better configuration let me know so I can upload your version in case someone else is interested.
