Any good mech games?
I rented Armorcore 3 and thought it was incredibly fun for both the single player and multiplayer (even tho i only fought my brother), Ive read great reviews for Chromehounds but then saw a vid on youtube and quickly vomited.

anyone know of any mech games for the 360?
released or soon to be?

Nah, Armed Core was the only one I knew about.

For the PC on the other hand you have a larger selection.

Tenko no Rondo or whatever it's called. It's shit though.

Best so far I THINK is ChromeHounds. The singleplayer is HORRID but the multiplayer is pretty sick.

RE: Any good mech games?
Ah, just found out, supposedly the PS3's Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is being released on 360 as well.

I dunno, the Demo actually got great reviews, despite the fact that Dynasty Warriors (And Samurai Warriors) are released with no true improvements month after month, like freakin Madden. Gundam on the other hand had a few nice games (And a few shit ones). The show is better than the games IMHO, but w/e. Together, I dunno, we'll have to wait and see.

If you have to get a Gundam game, Gundam:Encounters In Space (Sounds corny :P) is a GREAT game. It offers hundreds of missions (That are good, not just premanufactured shit) and hundreds of Mobile Suits, that you can change the weapons for, ext. It also has a Create-A-Pilot mode, that is pretty cool. Makes multiplayer funner. But yeah, that's a PS2 game, so yeah.

So yeah, maybe try that whens it's released on the 30th.

I remember those 2D Gundam fighting games for the SNES :)

I wasn't a fan of the newer ones, maybe I'll give the PS2 a try.

There's also a new Gundam game for the DS that was released on 8/9/07, which was a couple of days ago.

Too bad the game is in Japanese...but since it's turn based it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Yeah, all you need to do is to understand Kanji to be able to know whether you're shooting an enemy, defending or fleeing/using items ext ext ext ext.

IMO a turn based game in Japanase would be harder than a shooter in Japanese. A shooter, you point and shoot without much reading. An RPG, and you have to read the different moves/effects, and, all good RPG's have 50+% of the gameplay revolving around the story, not the actual play.

RE: Any good mech games?
Well you do have a point, as it's sort of awkward playing game in which you don't know what the hell is going on. As sometimes the amv sequences are not enough, and sometimes the characters tell you important information.

Maybe with an english guide the game would make more sense.. And speaking of games in which a foreign language doesn't make a difference, I'd say in fighting games. I played various Japanese fighting games without a problem, and still found them quite enjoyable even though I didn't know wtf they were saying.

RE: Any good mech games?
I played that demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and i actually really liked for what short part of it there was. But it kinda got repetitive with only a few combos available. You may get more later in the game, i dunno. It was only a demo.

But I do know of a good mech game, it is an original Xbox game however, though its as good as any 360 game. It's called Mech Assault 2, don't think about number one, it's horrible. Might not be what your after, but hey, it is fun.
