Typical Sony response, "We'll lose money if we get it, so what would the point in getting it be? Even if it does make a lot of the players happy!".

Just so you know, Mr. Sony guy, I DO plan on playing through GTA IV. So this DLC will be much needed after I beat it.

Must suck to know that the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV will actually be BETTER than the PS3 one, because we're getting DLC (more missions, guns, and vehicles are promised), huh?

And, if you're not a big enough fan to want to purchase that, you can still easily NOT get them. Makes a nice boredom cure when you come home from work, want some GTA time, but played through the game twice and want something new to freshen things up.

Yes, the 360 is getting DLC, but it hasn't been announced what that DLC will be, so you don't know. And if people don't want to fork over their money for something they don't think they need, then that's fine by me. I personally think that DLC is just a way of making money. What happened to the days when games were whole on the disc the were released on? I would buy a game and not have to worry about going out and having to buy something else to have the full experience. It'll have to be petty convincing DLC for me to download, the las thing i paid for on XBL was the Heroic Map pack for Halo 3, and i don't think it was worth it.

If you don't want it, no one is making you get it. But if it tickles your fancy, then go for it. They've already been dev'ing GTA IV to its limits, and I don't want to wait until fall of next year just to get ALL the content on one disc.

Also, if you look at the links you'll see a few of them cite "Downloadable weapons, vehicles and accessories" as what will be in the packs, because uh... what else would they put in them? Pink Starburst?

Well it's just a bonus, not an essential thing therefore paying for it isn't that bad IMO. I mean if you needed it to complete the game then that would be BS as they would be ripping us off by forcing us to pay extra.

Since this is not the case, it will be a nice option to have. I briefly skimmed through the articles and couldn't find any price. But hopefully it's fairly priced. And while this system seems rather inconvenient economically, you have to keep in mind that money is what motivates the developers. If they see this becoming profitable, they will strive to produce more adds on for GTA 4 and it will just help extend the gameplay, at a price of course. But it's better than them abandoning the game altogether. And as I said, it's optional, not mandatory. So if you don't have the extra cash, the game will still be fully functional except you won't get to enjoy this bonus stuff. And maybe they may even release some of the older add-on stuff for free at a later date...

Well, it is something to see the 360 beat out Sony on this one. Sony has been carrying this brand to fame.

True, it will probably be the first time I play a GTA game on an Xbox system. I've only played the previous ones on the PS2 and PC.

Only one of the links mentions weapons, and it was Kombo.com, which i've never heard of. Also, they said it as only a suggestion. Trust me, if details were released as far as what the DLC was, i wold know. No one knows what the DLC is going to be. It can be some more story, more missions, anything, but nowhere has it been mentioned or even hinted at as to WHAT it will be. It will be released in Fall of 08' so i expect details to show up around late september.

I'm using common sense. It's DLC for GTA. Unless they're releasing the Hello Kitty mod in the DLC, then it will be something around Vehicles, Guns, and Missions. I honestly fail to see any fault in my logic, there isn't really much else they could MAKE DLC for, for f**k sake.

I'll tell you what, if it isn't one of the latter, I'll mail you a copy of GTA IV. But if it IS one of the latter, you do the same for me. Deal?

Yeeeeeeeah, no. You jump to conclusions and state things that aren't fact. It hasn't been said yet. It could only be missions, episodes, as it was first said. I don't remember hearing anything about weapons. For all you know, DLC might even come out on the PS3 version. Nothing is confirmed, so you can't claim it as fact. You said weapons and vehicles were promised, which they aren't.
